News about Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal working together under Aashiq Abu's direction has been doing the rounds for some time now. The movie was rumoured to be titled Ragini Padmini. But Abu has clarified that the movie's name is Rani Padmini and not Ragini Padmini.

 

Rima and Manju play the title roles – Rani and Padmini. Shyam Pushkaran has penned a complete women centric plot for the movie. Another interesting fact is that Rani Padmini will not have any male lead in the movie. The film is expected to go on floors by January 2015.
